Educated at Manchester Metropolitan University with a degree
in Contemporary Arts with composition and
conducting as his specialities, Stewart has
focused the most recent part of his musical
life on teaching and conducting. He works
as an instrumental teacher for the City Music
and Performing Arts Service and is the Principal
Brass Advisor and Area Secretary for Victoria
College of Music.
As a conductor he has worked with a variety
of groups and choirs, having been Deputy Bandmaster
to Cheshire Constabulary and Musical Director
of Rode Hall Silver Band. He has been Musical
Director of the Nantwich and District Band,
a 40 piece symphonic band since 2002 with
considerable success.
He is married to fellow musician and teacher
Anna who he met at University and they live
in Crewe, Cheshire
